Have fewer children to save the world from global warming.
A group of researchers at Lund University in Sweden have reached a conclusion that giving birth to fewer children can allegedly save the world from the effects of global warming.
This topic is particularly interesting since it is almost impossible to impose a choice that is ordinarily determined by the couple or family involved.
The study’s co-author, Kimberly Nicholas, said. “I knew this was a sensitive topic to bring up. Certainly it’s not my place as a scientist to dictate choices for other people. But I do think it is my place to do the analysis and report it fairly.”
It is already concluded that reducing CO2 gas emission is the way to directly Combat global warming.
However, what has not been concluded is the most effective way to reduce CO2 gas emission by our personal lifestyle choices.
According to the researchers, the most efficient way people could take action to reduce CO2 gas emissions is to Have fewer kids.

Other lifestyle choices like living without a car, avoiding air travel, recycling, eating less meat, and biking or walking when possible cannot be ruled out as well. But as it turns out, having fewer children made the biggest impact by a lot.
According to the research, one less child means 58.6 metric ton CO2-equivalent (tCO2e) emission reductions per year.
This is a huge score in the fight against global warming when compared to other lifestyle choices like living car-free, avoiding air travel and others.
Living car-free for a year only saves 2.4 tCO2e per year. 25 people would have to live car-free for a year to achieve the same effect as having one less child. Avoiding air travel saves 1.6 tCO2e per year and eating a plant-based diet, just 0.8 tCO2e.
The study concludes therefore that less humans on earth is the fastest way to slow the effects of global warming.
the most efficient way people could take action to reduce CO2 gas emissions is to Have fewer kids.
The best way to achieve this is not by a radical elimination of half of the world’s population as is often portrayed in action movies.
Rather, having fewer children would in the long run reduce the world’s population and slow the effect of global warming.
This is not to say that the small changes in lifestyle like living car free don’t make a difference. They do when they add up, especially if those small changes are adopted by a lot of people.
